Types of sea freight transport

To meet the different needs of each customer, at XGL Logistics we offer a range of sea freight services. From full containers to specialised solutions for cargo with specific requirements, we ensure efficient logistics in every operation.

fcl lcl transporte marítimo

Full containers FCL and LCL groupage

Depending on the volume and nature of the cargo, you can choose between full containers (FCL) or groupage shipments (LCL).

The FCL (Full Container Load) service is ideal for companies that need an exclusive container for their cargo, ensuring greater security and faster transit times.

The LCL (Less than Container Load) service allows customers to share space in a container with other shipments, optimising costs without compromising transport safety or efficiency.

Consolidations

Sea consolidation is an ideal solution for companies that don’t fill a full container: we group your cargo with that of other customers, optimising costs without compromising safety or deadlines.

We run regular consolidations to Mexico (Veracruz and Altamira), Dubai (Jebel Ali) and Singapore, with redistribution to the main ports in each region through our WCA agent network. Check upcoming departures in our consolidation calendar.

For larger volumes we also handle FCL shipments, with an exclusive container for your cargo and no additional handling.

Oversized cargo

For goods of large dimensions or excessive weight, we offer specialised sea freight solutions.

We handle shipments of industrial machinery, construction equipment, metal structures and other bulky products, using options such as:

  • Break Bulk: For cargo that cannot be transported in standard containers.
  • Flat Rack: Open containers for oversized goods.
  • Ro-Ro transport: For machinery and vehicles that can be driven on board.

We handle the planning and execution of these shipments, ensuring efficient logistics and compliance with all international regulations.

temperatura controlada transporte marítimo xgl

Temperature-controlled cargo

For products requiring thermal control during sea transit, we handle shipments in refrigerated containers (reefer) with continuous temperature monitoring.

Our temperature-controlled customer profile includes pharmaceutical laboratories, cosmetics manufacturers and chemical sector companies working with temperature-sensitive products. We coordinate the complete cold chain under GDP standards when the operation requires it.

Dangerous goods

The sea transport of dangerous goods is governed by the IMDG code (International Maritime Dangerous Goods), which sets out the classification, packaging, labelling and documentation requirements for each hazard class.

At XGL Logistics we regularly handle Class 3 (flammable liquids: solvents, resins, industrial paints), Class 9 (lithium batteries, electronic components and regulated materials) and other classes in containers.

We have our own in-house safety advisers and are members of WCA Dangerous Goods, an international network specialising in dangerous goods.

We coordinate complete documentation: Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD), packaging instructions and coordination with certified shipping lines for regulated cargo. The shipper is responsible for the declaration; XGL advises and manages the operation.
